Work for Wednesday 18th January
Hello lovely year 8,
1. Look at the following website.

It has lots of the information we were discussing yesterday. Read through it and then attempt some of the exercises at teh bottom of the page.
COPY and PASTE at least five of these exercises into a word document to show me on Friday.
2. Start designing a poster on the uses of the passive voice and on its formation (like the tables we looked at on Tuesday)
Have fun!
NOTE: YOUR FIRST ASSESSMENT OF THE TERM WILL BE ON TUESDAY 24TH JANUARY.
This will be criteria B (Reading comprehension) and Critera D (Grammar). Passive voice and being able to use it in various tenses will be tested!

Tasks for today:
1. Finish your poster about Cry, the beloved country (see the blog post below this one). This is the last lesson we will have to finish these. Remember, there will be prizes for the best ones.
When you have finished it, hand it into me or send them to me at banwellsfp@gmail.com. I must have these before the end of today´s lesson for them to be considered for the prize.
Some of your posters are FANTASTIC and we will display them so everyone else can see them :)
2. Prepare a powerpoint presentation about South Africa. This should include TEN INTERESTING FACTS about the country. This could be information about important historical events, famous people who are from there, information about the geography / South African cities or anything else you think is important. Make sure you include pictures as well as the information. When you finish this, please also send it to me at banwellsfp@gmail.com.

Work to be completed whilst orals are being done.
YOU NEED TO REMAIN IN SILENCE WHILST THE ORALS ARE BEING COMPLETED.
1: You can continue to prepare for your orals in silence whilst your colleagues are doing theirs.
2. On Friday, we will complete your 67% reading comprehension. Part of this will be testing if you can PEE (point, evidence, explain). Revise for this using your notes, using the blog post and completing the Holes - Lesson 3 activity on P22 of your workbook.
3. Complete pages 9 and 10, exercises 1-5 in your booklet.
4. Complete the reading activities pages 11-14. This is good practice for your reading assessment on Friday.
Read the texts and make a vocabulary list of 10 or more words you do not know / words that are good for this topic. Copy them and DEFINE them in your own words.
